FRANCHISE FEMALE OF THE MONTH: GABBY DOUGLAS

With very modest beginnings Gabby Douglas has quickly became 'America's Sweetheart'.  She not only walks away from the 2012 London Olympics with two gold medals but with a college scholarship, an almost 10 foot tall hometown mural and her face plastered all over the world on Kellogg brand Corn Flakes box.  Pretty good for a little girl from Virginia.

Gabby began gymnastics an the very early age of 3 and by age 6 she had already become the State Champion.  By fourteen she moved to Des Moines Iowa where she would begin to train full-time with elite gymnastics coach Liang Chow.  Away from her family, Gabby would not miss a step winning gold after gold with her National Team.  In June of this year Gabby traveled to San Jose California and secured her position on the 2012 Olympic Team.

Now Gabby returns home to cameras, interviews, autographs, endorsements, book and movie deals.  And to think she has not even graduated high school yet and they are already asking her for a life story.  So with that I say...Congratulations to Gabby...Congratulations for fitting a lifetime into 16 years!  Congratulations for ignoring the idiots that commented on your hairstyling!  Congratulations on your 2 gold medals and wishing you many more!  Congratulations on the financial windfall that will follow! Congratulations on reaching the top of the mountain! And thanks for letting us watch!  If you would like to find out more about Gabby please click here to visit her OFFICIAL site.

THE PENALTY BOX: TERRELL OWENS ALLEGEDY A DADDY-DO-LITTLE

It is now time for our second installment of THE PENALTY BOXAgain, THE PENALTY BOX is a place that we  FRANCHISE FEMALES reserve for those athletes that display a lack of character to serve time for their offense.  THE PENALTY BOX is not a monthly or weekly post.  It's whenever these fools decide to act up!  And unlike in hockey...once you're in, you never get out.  So with that, I now introduce you to Terrell Owens as DADDY-DO-LITTLE II.  I introduced you to Daddy-Do-Little Sr., Tiki Barber, a while back but I think Terrell wears the new crown well.

I'm not sure who his current publicist is... but if they advised him to take this interview, they should be fired immediately!  Daddy-Do-Little II angrily explained that all FOUR of his FOUR children's mothers were gold-diggers and that they were holding grudges against the 6 time Pro Bowl selected NFL fallen star.  While the media has proven to be murderous to the career of any African-American male celebrity who is foolish enough to make a public or private mistake...Terrell Owens, himself, has loaded us heavily with ammunition.  Any single mother who watched this episode was sure to cringe as Terrell told Dr. Phil and his 5 million plus viewers that 'it was not his obligation' to pick up his child.  Way to throw gasoline on a fire Terrell!

This idiot needs to crawl under a rock for a while.  A rock with a therapist under it.  Terrell, so obviously, needs considerable time to heal and see the error of his ways before he reemerges again.  Terrell himself was a victim of an absentee father.  It's sad to see the cycle continue.  Especially when a mans has all the means to prevent it.  Take a look at Terrell's resentful rhetoric and make your own decision...

Chad Johnson...I just need a few more details

I think everyone I know must have an opinion on the Chad Jonson and Evelyn Lozada mess.  And what a mess it is.  It is alleged that Chad, in an angry rage, after being caught red-handed with a receipt for condoms, headbutt Ev causing a three inch laceration on her forehead. Ultimately this is also costing the couple their new VH1 reality show as well as Chads NFL contract with the Miami Dolphins and his Zico Coconut Water endorsement.  Wowzers, I can't wait to hear the lost revenue figures!

Now we've all seen plenty of these two over the past several years on their various reality television shows and I just need a few more details before I believe what's being reported.  What we've seen of Chad is a that he is a little boy in a big mans world and horribly irresponsible.  What we've seen of Evelyn is her run across the top of a table to punch a woman, she swung on this same woman from behind...We've also seen her toss a bottle of wine and a plate at a woman in multiple episodes of Basketball Wives.

So forgive me for wanting to know a little more before I believe that Chad was the aggressor. This was a train-wreck just waiting to happen.  Get an insiders opinion. Click here to see what Chads former publicist Kita Williams has to say......

Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos kidnapped in Venezuela

Wilson Ramos, one of the Washington Nationals’ most promising young baseball players, was kidnapped at gunpoint Wednesday night from his family’s home in Venezuela, leaving the team in a state of shock and raising questions about the safety of playing in a country ravaged in recent years by kidnappings and street crime.

Shame on Joe!

"The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital." - Joe Paterno.

This one of my favorite quotes from one of my all-time favorite sports figures.  But shame on Joe Paterno and shame on Penn State!  A coaches job is to teach, to encourage and to protect.  With out any one of those three, you can not be considered a true coach.  Penn State and Joe Paterno did not protect their athletes.  If you have knowledge of molestation and rape in your program it is up to YOU to report the incident.  Not just to the Athletic Director but to the police.

I am beyond disgusted with the news of the 40, yes I said it, 40 counts of sexual abuse of children. The first accusation was reported in 1998.  In all honesty, I am not only concerned with the coaches that failed to correctly report the incidents but I am also concerned about the parents that failed to report the acts to any law enforcement officials.  This is just a hot mess!

And it top it off....Paterno, as of this morning, plans to finish the season with the team. A friend of mine, Carl A. Kemp to be exact, posed the question; Why is it the African-American athletes that except gifts are suspended immediately but an old white man that looks the other way to child molestation stays put?  I'm disgusted and open to feed back.

Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good.              Joe Paterno

There's no flinching in Football!

So yesterday, Mark Sanchez was caught looking scurred at the line of scrimmage. At 6'2 and 225 lbs I guess Mark might be a little intimidated by the 6'0 193lbs. Drayton Florence??????  Pahaaaaaaaaaaa!
Sanchez started slow in the first half with two picks, but pulled it together in the second half to go 20-for-28 for 230 yards and a touchdown pass as the Jets blasted the Buffalo Bills 27-11.The poor boy even got himself a holding call on the very same play.  Hilarious!
